Clock

Before you start your test, be sure to have a watch or timer available. You could also use the “timer” function on your phone to track elapsed time.

Expiration Date

Check the expiration on the box and on the enclosed sealed pouch. Never use an expired test.

When to take your test

If you test from the day of your expected period, you can test at any time of day. If you test early, however, always use your first urine of the day.

Absorbent tip

Always keep the absorbent tip pointing down. If, after exposing the tip to urine, you point the tip upward, you could invalidate your test’s result.

Expose the tip of your Walgreens One Step Pregnancy Test to your urine for exactly five seconds.

Clean cup

If you can’t insert the tip of your pregnancy test into your urine stream, you can urinate into a clean cup.

Use enough urine to completely immerse the absorbent tip.

Insert the tip of your pregnancy test into the urine for 20 seconds: no more, no less.

Wait for your result

After exposing the absorbent tip of your test to your urine, place it on a flat surface. Wait for at leat two minutes (but no longer than 10 minutes) for your result to appear.

Moving your test too early may invalidate your result.

Reading your result

Reading your result too early or late will invalidate your result. If you wait longer than 10 minutes, discard the test.

  • A valid result will always have a line in the “Control” window.
  • A positive result will have a plus sign in the “Result” window.
  • A negative result will have no colored lines in the “Result” window.

“It does not matter if one of the lines that make up the “+” symbol is lighter or darker than the other.”

In other words, a faint line on one or both of the segments of the “+” sign represents a “positive” result.
