First Response Pregnancy Test New Package
FRER, the most popular pregnancy test, has updated its packaging. In some ways, Church & Dwight, the distributors of First Response, had to update its packaging for accuracy.
You’ll also discover that the new FRER package advertises a handy app that will help you read and understand your pregnancy test result.
Before we look at the new package, let’s quickly review the old package.
FRER – Out with the Old
First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test is a high sensitivity pregnancy test. It has an HCG Cut Off sensitivity of 6 mIU/mL. That means that at least 50% of women with an HCG concentration of 6 mIU/mL will receive a positive result for pregnancy.
The HCG Analytical sensitivity of the product is 10 mIU/mL. This means that 100% of women with an HCG concentration of 10 mIU/mL in their urine will trigger a positive result for pregnancy.
The old First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test package contained the standard “Over 99% Accurate” claim with the disclaimer that the test is only more than 99% accurate from the day of your missed period.
Church & Dwight only recently chanced the packaging for the First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test. For this reason, you may still see the product in its old package at some stores and online retailers.
The First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test inside the box is identical, regardless of the packaging.
TIP: Always check the expiration date of your pregnancy test before using it. You’ll find the expiration date printed on the narrow end of the box and on the foil packet that contains the pregnancy test.
FRER’s new app that scans and reads your pregnancy test result will work with the pregnancy test sticks contained in either the old or new package.
FRER – In with the New
You probably fell in love with the new First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test package the first time you saw it.
The information we published in our First Response Pregnancy Test review remains valid and accurate.
The new design looks modern and up-to-date. It also includes a couple modifications that will help you decide whether to choose FRER.
It’s the same test
The First Response Pregnancy Test stick inside the new package remains the same as the test stick in the old package.
Only the package has changed. Let’s talk about what they’ve changed on the package.
No longer the only 6-day-sooner test
One thing different with the new FRER package is the removal of its claim to be the “Only brand that can tell you 6 days sooner.”
Church & Dwight, the distributor of the First Response Pregnancy Test must feel pressured by other Early Result Pregnancy Tests, such as the Family Dollar Pregnancy Test.
This new breed of store-brand tests have achieved parity with FRER regarding HCG Analytical Sensitivity.
It’s important for you to know that First Response is no longer the only pregnancy test that lets you test 6 days sooner. You can get the same HCG Clinical Sensitivity from several third-party brands.

FRER Download and scan
First Response Pregnancy Test now offers an app that you can download from your device’s app store. When equipped with the app, you can scan your pregnancy test stick to read your result.
The new First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test works with the new Church & Dwight Pregnancy Test scanner app.
Download the app to your phone and let it read your pregnancy test result! The app gives you the assurance that you’ve properly read and interpreted your test.
